Re: Merge document footer in OpenOffice odt

Hi Jan,

As explained in the documentation, the command OPENTBS_SELECT_FOOTER is useless with OFT simply beacause headers and footers are stored in the main sub-file.

Your second code « $TBS->MergeBlock('h', $header) » has no effect because block "h" has already been merged previously. If its' another physical block, then use another name.

Re: Rendering of HMTL stored in my database records

Hi JPG,

That's the problem of storing rich text (bold, underline, italic, ...) with a final format (HTML).
That's also why some software store riche text in a simplified format (like BBcode).

It would be quite difficult, probably impossible, to perform a function that fully translates HTML to ODT.
I simple solution is simply to use the PHP function strip_tags() in order to delete HTML tags keeping the text.
A more complicated solution is to start a function that does some translation from HTML to ODT but you have to make it.

Re: Problem adding a checkbox in a table

I got it !

The solution to check the checboxes was to add this in additional information :
[parts2.checked;att=form:current-state;ope=msk:*]

I think the clue is to have the aame data array in the additional information and in the help property, in my case parts2

code to simplify header and footer merge (OPENTBS_SELECT_HEADER/OPENTBS_SELECT_FOOOTER)

Changing the following 5 lines in tbs_plugin_opentbs.php makes OPENTBS_SELECT_HEADER/OPENTBS_SELECT_FOOOTER more useful when using odt templates.
Otherwise you have to do a manual $tbs->PlugIn(OPENTBS_SELECT_FILE, "styles.xml"); and you have to write different code for .docx and .odt.

Great thanks to all who made this template engine such a great software !
I am using CentOS 7 (headless) with libreoffice 4.3.7.2-5.el7_2.1 to do the merge.

It is too diffuclt for no, it would need an upgrade of TBS.
The problem is ODT saved the number of spanned cell in the first cell but TBS knows the number of spanned cells only during the merge.

Re: OpenTBS MergeField acting irregularly

I had a look at the zip archive for the problematic document and there are some clear irregularities in the problem areas. Additionally, I've found other documents merge fields without issue. I think the problem is that the template I'm using is originally a heavily formatted word file which I'm opening through open office leading to the content.xml file's structure getting garbled. Thanks very much for your assistance in developing this application, you've been a great help!

Re: Merging cells vertically in .odt

Hi Nico,

This feature is more complicated for LibreOffice than for Ms Word because LibreOffice use a special entity <table:covered-table-cell/> for cells that are covered by a merged cell.
So it can be done, but not the same way as for Ms Word tables.

Preparing data w'ont help you for this. The point is to transform a <table:table-cell> entity into <table:covered-table-cell/>.

I think this will be included in the next OpenTBS version.

Re: OpenTBS doesn't merge blocks when using tab stops in the document

Hi DenisW,

This problem is well know and should be mentioned in the demo templates soon.
When the TBS tag is split in the inner XML, then it is not merged, or badly merged.

The workaround is to select the TBS tags, then cut, and then paste as « unformatted text ».
This should avoid inner split.

Re: How to add one "odt" file into another "odt" file? (i use opentbs plugin)

Hi, this would be very useful. At least to read a block from another file (e.g. a certain table) and place into the current template (replacing aplaceholder or something).

The usecase would be (in my case) a serial letter with a fixed template, but all get a common settlement table on a last page uploaded by the operator for this particular serial letter issue. I don't want the operator to edit and upload the whole template, since Word destroys the OpenTBS placeholders randomly from time to time (by inserting spaces after the . or some magic invisible stuff).
